01Our commitment#
PassRidge helps QA professionals find work, and people who test software for accessibility are among them. We hold our own site to the same standard. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, for every public page and tool on passridge.com.
We aim to meet the standards that apply to us as a business that serves people in the UK, the EU and the US, including the UK Equality Act 2010, the Americans with Disabilities Act and, where relevant, EN 301 549. Using WCAG 2.2 AA as the measure lets one standard cover all of them.
02Where we stand today#
We believe the site partly conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA. “Partly” means most of it meets the standard, and the known gaps are listed in the next sections. We have assessed the site ourselves with automated checks and our own keyboard testing. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit, and we do not claim a certification or a conformance badge. When an external audit is done we will publish a summary here.
This statement was last reviewed on 1 October 2026 and covers passridge.com, including the job pages, the tools, the forms and the legal pages.
03What we build in#
- Plain structure. Every page has one main heading, a logical heading order, landmarks, a “Skip to content” link and a page language of English.
- Works without scripts. Pages and their content are rendered when we build the site, so reading and navigating do not depend on JavaScript. Interactive tools add to the page and do not replace it.
- Keyboard and focus. Menus, dialogs, forms and tools can be used with a keyboard, and the keyboard focus is visible.
- Colour contrast. Text and key interface colours come from a fixed set. Our build checks the contrast of those colours against WCAG AA and fails if one falls below the limit. Neon green is used only as a fill, never as text on white.
- Touch targets. Buttons and main navigation links are at least 44 CSS pixels high.
- Motion. Animations are small and are reduced or removed if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Images and icons. Our build fails if an image has no alt attribute. Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Zoom and reflow. Pages reflow to a single column on phone screens and are built to work at 200% text size.
- Tables. Data tables use proper header cells, and legal tables have captions. Wide tables scroll inside a region you can reach with the keyboard.
- Forms. Fields have visible labels, errors are written next to the field in words, and required fields are marked.
04Known limitations#
These are the problems we know about. We list them so that you do not have to find them the hard way.
| Area | The problem | What to do or what we are doing |
|---|---|---|
| Live chat (Tawk.to) | The chat box comes from another company and loads only if you accept it. We do not control its code and cannot promise it meets WCAG 2.2 AA. | Email [email protected] instead. A person answers the same way. |
| Charts and maps | Some charts and diagrams, such as salary and location graphics, show figures visually. Not every one has the same numbers in text or a table beside it. | Ask us and we send the figures in a table or plain text. We are adding text versions chart by chart. |
| Interactive tools | The Level Test, CV Checker, salary calculators and job filters update the page as you work. They are designed for keyboard use, but we have not yet tested them in every screen reader and browser pairing, so announcements of changes may be missing or too frequent. | If a tool does not work for you, tell us which one and your assistive technology. We will give you the result by email or run it with you. |
| Job descriptions | Listings are rewritten summaries of employer postings. Some source text has odd formatting, such as long lists with no headings. | We tidy the structure when we spot it. Tell us the listing and we will fix it. |
| Very narrow screens | At a width of 320 CSS pixels (or at very high zoom) the page header is slightly wider than the screen, so the page can scroll sideways by a few pixels. This falls short of the WCAG reflow criterion at that size. | Content stays readable and the menu works. We are fixing the header layout. |
| Long legal tables | On narrow screens a wide table scrolls sideways inside its box instead of reflowing. | The box can be scrolled by keyboard. Each table's text is also in the page prose, and we can send a plain-text version on request. |
| File uploads | The application form accepts PDF and Word files. Documents you upload are outside our control and may not be accessible to others. | You can apply without a file by describing your experience in the form, or ask for another way. |
| Translations | The site is in English only. Some job titles and company names appear in other languages. | Write to us if you need information in another format. |
05Technical notes#
PassRidge relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We check pages in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile. The site uses ARIA only where plain HTML cannot do the job. Our build checks heading counts, link targets, duplicate ids, image alt text and colour tokens on every release.
06If you need an adjustment when applying#
If you need a different format for an assessment, extra time, a different interview setup or any other reasonable adjustment, tell your recruiter or write to [email protected]. We keep what you tell us private, use it only to arrange the adjustment and do not share it with a client unless you ask us to. See the privacy notice and our equal opportunity statement.
07Report a barrier#
If you cannot use part of the site, or something is hard to use, please tell us. Write to [email protected] and include:
- the page address,
- what you were trying to do and what went wrong,
- the browser and any assistive technology you use (optional, but it helps us find the problem).
| Step | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | A person replies within 2 working days. |
| Help now | We give you the information or complete the task by another route, such as email or a call, within 5 working days. |
| The fix | Within 10 working days we tell you what we will change and when. Serious blockers go to the front of the queue. |
You can send the same message in another format, such as a phone call or a letter to the addresses below.
08If you are not satisfied#
Please tell us first so we can put it right. If you are in the UK and still have a problem, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (equalityadvisoryservice.com) gives free advice. If you are in the EU you can contact the accessibility or consumer authority in your country. In the US you can contact the US Department of Justice ADA information line, or a state civil rights office.
