What we test

What we test in healthcare and MedTech.

The risks that matter most in this industry, and the checks we put in place for each. Engineers are matched on these, not only on tool names.

01

Verification and validation

Each requirement and risk control has a test, a result and a sign-off that can be traced.

02

Patient-data protection

Role-based access, audit trails and de-identified test data for protected health information.

03

Interoperability

HL7 v2 and FHIR messages exchanged with hospital systems, labs and devices, tested against real-world payloads.

04

Device and firmware

Hardware-in-the-loop tests, alarm handling and fail-safe behaviour on embedded devices.

Compliance considerations

What shapes healthcare and MedTech testing.

These standards describe obligations that usually apply to the product or the client. PassRidge does not hold them on your behalf and nothing here is legal advice. Your compliance owner sets the scope.

01

HIPAA

US rules for protected health information, including access control and audit logging.

02

IEC 62304

The software life-cycle standard for medical device software, including verification and the software safety class.

03

ISO 13485 and ISO 14971

Quality management for medical devices, and risk management applied to them.

04

FDA 21 CFR Part 11

Requirements for electronic records and signatures, which testing must cover for systems that keep them.

05

EU MDR (2017/745)

The European medical device regulation, which includes software as a medical device.

Our engineers work inside your controls, on masked or synthetic data, and produce test evidence in the format your reviewers ask for. How security works in every engagement.

FAQ

QA for healthcare and MedTech: your questions.

Can your testers work under IEC 62304 and ISO 13485?

Our regulated-industry testers have worked inside those quality systems and follow your procedures. We do not hold your device certification. Your quality system stays yours.

How do you handle protected health information?

We do not need it. Test environments should use de-identified or synthetic data. Where access to real data is unavoidable, we sign the agreements your privacy officer requires and restrict access to named people.

Do you provide validation documents?

Yes. Technical writers and business test analysts write test protocols, execute them and produce summary reports in your document templates.

Which engagement model do you recommend for healthcare and MedTech?

Usually managed qa (qaaas). Evidence, strategy and traceability are a service you want one accountable owner for. Managed QA (QAaaS) starts in about 21 days, mid-level rates begin at $48 an hour and the minimum term is 6 months. The five models are compared at /outsourcing/.
